DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
1. For new wooden items, apply oil daily for the first week.
2. Thereafter, apply once a week for the initial month.
3. Continue to treat with oil once a month for a year or anytime the wood appears dry.
4. Refrain from using vegetable oil as it can become rancid, leading to undesirable odors or tastes.
Below are tips on how to care for your wooden utensils:
DO
- Wash your teak utensil set in hot soapy water immediately after use
- Pat the utensils dry with a cloth and let air dry
- Rub with a slice of lemon and allow to air dry if strong flavors have seeped into the wood
- Apply mineral oil to the wood once in a while to prevent the wood from cracking or drying out
DON’T
- Put wood utensils or cutting boards into the dishwasher as this can cause them to crack
- Allow the utensils to sit in water to soak for extended periods of time
